April 29, 2026: Léa Ravensbergen Lecture

Planning the just cycling city

9:30am–10:45am · SSC 7200

Cities around the world are investing in cycling for its environmental, health, and social benefits. But practices of cycling are inherently tied up in questions of justice: from who is represented, to how cycling is experienced, to where cycling infrastructure is built. This talk brings these questions of justice to the centre of how we plan the cycling city.

Dr. Léa Ravensbergen is an Assistant Professor in the School of Earth, Environment & Society (SEES) at McMaster University. Her critical transport research explores how cities can foster more sustainable transport systems in an equitable manner.

This session is the opening session of the Centre’s Graduate Student Research Showcase. All are welcome to hear the talk.
